Pakistan Out Off Champion Cup Trophy 2025 Race Here’s Why?

Pakistan’s title defense in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 came to an abrupt end after suffering back-to-back defeats. Australian cricket legend Ricky Ponting attributed Pakistan’s early exit to tactical missteps, particularly in their utilization of key batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
Pakistan, the defending champions and co-hosts of the tournament, became the first team to be eliminated after losing to New Zealand in their opener and suffering a heavy defeat to India on February 23 in Dubai.
Speaking on The ICC Review, Ponting questioned Pakistan’s strategy, emphasizing the need for their star players to step up. “Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are world-class players, but they haven’t been able to deliver for their team,” Ponting noted.
Ponting also praised Indian batsman Virat Kohli for his impressive performance under pressure. “Big games require big players, and Kohli has consistently risen to the occasion,” Ponting said.
Pakistan’s premature exit from the tournament has raised questions about their overall approach and execution on the field. The team will look to regroup and bounce back stronger in future competitions.
