Kashmir Solidarity Gathering: Mushtaq Ahmad Khan Leads Peace Rally at Islamabad’s F-10 Markaz

ISLAMABAD: Former Senator and Chairman of the Pakistan Rights Movement (PRM), Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, led a major Kashmir Solidarity and Peace Gathering (Jalsa Kashmir) today at F-10 Markaz, Islamabad. The rally drew hundreds of citizens, students, journalists, and members of the Kashmiri diaspora residing in the twin cities to demand peace, constitutional rights, and an immediate end to state coercion in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

The public gathering followed the former senator’s release from brief detention after he was intercepted while attempting to travel to AJK carrying white flags of peace.

Key Highlights of the F-10 Gathering

  • Display of Peace and National Symbols: Demonstrators assembled waving Pakistani flags, Kashmiri flags, and white flags representing peace and reconciliation.
  • Reiteration of 3 Core Demands: Addressing the crowd, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan reiterated his call to open AJK to relief organizations and independent media, immediately release the bodies of deceased protesters to their families, and cease all crackdowns against peaceful civil activists.
  • Focus on Local Empowerment: Speakers emphasized that Kashmiris must be granted authority over their own resources and that political disputes in the territory can only be resolved through genuine, non-violent dialogue.

Message from the Podium: “Stop the use of force, stop shedding blood, and allow the people of Kashmir to exercise their constitutional right to peaceful assembly. Peace and reconciliation are the only way forward.”
